Up early to beat the crowds at this gorgeous Los Angeles hiking trail, popular with La locals and tourist alike. Keep an eye out for celebrities, sightings at Runyon Canyon are reported often. Prepare for stunning views and photo opportunities, as the sun hits the horizon around 6:20am, casting a blanket of pinks and blues over the downtown LA skyline.

Griffith Observatory mixes beautiful architecture with sweeping view of Los Angeles. Give yourself extra time to find parking* and explore the observatory grounds and museum, before taking in the sunset, at 7:20pm. The panoramic views of the Hollywood sign and La skyline are some of the best in the city.

*If the parking lot at the observatory is full, you can park along the roads leading up hill.
